So lucky again, I found my old piece of work to discribe the journey to the Rock in my sending mailbox, just need to transfer over here, then can share with u liao=> Be4 that, let me just ve a quick introduction about Gibraltar.
As u can see from the title, it's under British colonies. Here they have their own currencies. It's called Gibraltar Pound. During that time I was there in end of Dec 2006. The rates is US100 to Gbr Pound 50. The country is v small, I think it's smaller than Malacca, don't believe, just see the pic below.
As u can see the pic above, it's form by 2 part, the Rock which is the mountain and the town n port. The left side of the photo will be the runway for plane landing n depart. After the Airport, will be La Ina, Spain liao.

Here comes the interesting part that we not often seeing. The runway of the plane is actually across the main road to Spain. If the plane going to take off or landing, two side of the road will block by barricades, just like train tracks at my hometown. Have to let the plane take off or landing first, then only release back the traffic.
That's the 1st time I actually walk across the airport runway, Shiok!!! Ha ha....
Just to share tis with u, whenever we go back from holiday, the moment the plane is going to touch down. From up there, we r actually can't see the runway or land, just like going to the sea, phew.... Sweat siah.... Lagi the runway is damn short to compare to others countries runway. Once the pilot mis-calculation, habislah saya, ha ha...

Middle of the journey, we’ve ate apples for replenish our energy. Guess what, when Stephen want to take photo for me at the top, the ape crawling near to him and intention to open his back sac, I quickly pull him away to prevent the ape to steal his sac from his back, the ape was so daring. We both got a shock, ha ha…..
Tis Apes also become the symbolic of Gibraltar. Lot's of souvenirs shows them on it.

I'd actually going up to the Upper Rock at least 3 times with different routes, more adventure mah=> Btw, Stephen commented tis blue sweater is for girl, do u think so??? I beh tahan liao, give it to my sister liao, ha ha...
From there we decided to cross to another top where the battery is. When we reach there, the gate is closed, there is a narrow path by the side. First, we dare not go thru as the sign stated no access further this. Then we turn back, middle of the way, we saw a old couple is walking toward us. We told them there is a dead end due to the gate is closed. He show us the map and told us they came here 10 years before and using the narrow path to go thru. Then he show us that there’s another way to the place by the other direction. We follow his instruction and come to the road, it’s also a very narrow path, quite dangerous if suddenly got apes coming out, we might get a shock and felt down, luckily nothing happen. We’re actually reach some place that we pass thru before.
Then, we decided to go back to the battery place again to check it out whether the couple has go thru or not. We met them on the road. They said it’s quite dangerous and they don’t want to take the risk. But the wife told us it’s very beautiful scenery as they go thru 10 years ago, if we don’t go, might feel wasted, from there can actually see 3 side of the sea. End up we listen to them and try to adventure to reach the top. When we going thru the narrow path, it comes to a very long narrow steps with zip zap manner. I went down first to check it out whether is it the dead end. But I go down quite below still haven’t reach yet and Stephen is coming down also from the back. We r actually very near to the top already n now going down with those narrow broken steps. The more we going down, we feel like we’re going to the jungle track with very narrow path. From there onwards, we worried there is a dead end in front then we’ve to turn back.
We’ve no choice but to keep going, the path is becoming more narrow and the steps ve a lots of pebbles that very dangerous, might cause us falling down. Luckily after an hour going down to the steps and thru the narrow path, we saw something like a cementary place and there is a gate to connect to the main road. We cut cross to the cementary and climb across the gate and we finally reach the in front of the entrance. Phew…. What a adventure experience, I never have this type of experience before. Furthermore have to step on the grave to find the way out, so scary. May god forgive my act.

When we reach back to the ship, it’s just on time, about 1.20pm . It cause us about 5 hours walking non stop to complete the journey to the top, very satisfy. Then we decided to jog to Spain at 4pm , if we don’t go today, might have no chance anymore. Luckily my colleague helps me to clear the officer lunch already and I only need to decoy the machine. About 2.30pm , I finish everything and go to take a nap.
As schedule, we decide to jog to Spain , when we r at the main street, there r too much people walking around and we force to slow down and walk thru it. This is the 3rd time I walk thru the Airplane track after 5 years. When we reach Spain , it’s just nearly 5pm. Lots of the shop is resting now and we just walk around, we walk to a beach side. Around 5.30pm , we go back to the central to shop, No.2 want to buy cloth for his wife at Mango but unfortunately he couldn’t find anything he likes, so terrible. We’re looking for Carefour too but couldn’t find it, end up having dinner at Mc Donald. After that, we walk back to ship before 8pm .
We’re actually walk about 8 to 9 hours non-stop today and we’re actually satisfy on the upper rock, only little bit disappointed at Spain as we couldn’t find things that we want, but anyway, still enjoy lah, ha ha….. Today can be my most tiring day but fun and satisfy day!!!:> That’s why like to share my experience with my best friend.

Glad to know that you had a satisfying time there. Oh my, don't you ever get tired ... where do you find the strenght to walk whole day then jog some more .... great and superb stamina ... thumbs up for you!!
